Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Geo- Sciences, along with Prof. Dr. M. Saleem Haider, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, has signed an MOU with Prof. Dr. Abid H K Shirwani, Director, ORIC, UMT Lahore on exchange of Expertise & Research Facilities to address emerging Environmental issues as well as achieving SDGs and working together for training/workshops/short courses/seminars to create an integrated approach of applied and basic research in the filed of Environmental Sciences. Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood VC University of the Punjab presided over the MOU signing ceremony.

He highlighted the possible sources of smog such as brick kilns, industries, automobiles & burning rice stubbles and proposed various precautionary measures to curb smog issue in Pakistan

Closing ceremony of 4th International conference on Emerging Trends in Earth & Environmental Sciences held under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmad, Principal CEES/Dean Geo Sciences. Mr. Mansoor Qadir, Minister for Higher Education, President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Kashif Anwar, Vice Chancellor, Deans of various faculties, foreign delegates, researchers/students from various universities of Pakistan, Director Agriculture Punjab, students from PU, faculty members, media officials and other various stake holders of environment participated in the conference ceremony. Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmad, Dean Geo Sciences, proposed solution of environmental problems such as Climate change, Smog, Pollution, Biodiversity loss etc. confronted by society/country/world. He also made recommendations of the Environmental Issues by strict enforcement of Env. Laws, installation of green energy projects, awareness of the masses, bridging the gap between academia & Industry, tree plantation drives and sustainable development options.
Yet another landmark achievement under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmad, Principal CEES and Dean faculty of Geosciences PU. Scintillating Inauguration ceremony of 4th International conferences on “Emerging trends in Earth and Environmental Sciences” at College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Mr. Wasi Shah, state minister of tourism and Mansoor Qadir minister HEC Punjab alongwith foreign delegates from Germany, Canada, China, Australia has addressed the participants. It will be great opportunity for students and young researchers all over Pakistan.
